Convergence was a really fun challenge for me. It started as a doodle of overlapping sine and cosine waves. While the final design only has tiny hints of the mathematical references that started it all, I loved the experiment of turning a simple wavy line into a fun and bright design. I also enjoyed learning how to foundation paper piece with curves in order to achieve the precision this simple design demanded and determining how to incorporate the negative space into the design of the quilt with the quilting.
