When I read that there would be a special “X” exhibit in honor of MQG’s tenth anniversary, I knew I wanted to form the X with the stitching. I placed a bunch of different fabrics on a table. My only selection criterion was the colors form a value gradation. I tried out many different combinations until this one spoke to me. I then auditioned my perle cotton threads until I decided on peach and fuchsia. I marked the X and freehand stitched, changing colors to create the figure. Because I used the lighter peach thread for the X, it appears ghostlike.
