This quilt is the result of playing with blocks in Illustrator. I made a series of Sawtooth Star blocks and spent time playing with the position of the stars to create new and secondary designs. As I moved the stars around, I laughed at the number of times I needed to use the “bring forward” and “send backward” function. I noticed an interesting 3D effect as I lined the stars up with the next one tucked in behind the previous one. I love adding dimensionality to a very 2D craft. The X shape was a natural outcome of how I lined up the blocks.
