(FCH040) Ripple Effect

Setting blocks on point was a first for me in this quilt. In this pattern design I wanted to highlight the diagonal flow of the Mandarin Orange curves, which appear to ripple together across the quilt. I love to hand appliqué curves, and used the freezer paper method to prep the curved pieces and stitch them down precisely and quickly (or at least a little bit more quickly versus my usual needle turn method). Ripples of hand quilting adds to the movement of the blocks.
