I sketched this quilt out and even picked the fabrics for it back in 2018, but it sat in a bin as I moved twice as a simple idea. When we had our first retreat in three years as a guild in 2022, I grabbed the bin this was sitting in and set out to get to work on it finally. As a foundation paper piecer mostly, the improv nature of piecing these strips was at times freeing and oftentimes frustrating. I had to let go of my desire to have order and structure and embrace ambiguity.
