Pent Up Emotions quilt speaks to challenges and frustrations of being a care-giver, but also to the hope for healing as we create what is our new normal. The pentagons are nested with an offset (2 at 60% and 1 at 40%) and a "backspin" on the colors. The large radius concentric curve quilting emphasizes the color movement and spin, and was also selected to celebrate the possibilities (of a domestic machine) instead of the limitations. Each of the nested pentagons is unique but similar to the others representing the family, and the colors were selected to convey renewal. The three pentagons touch, and where they meet form an upward-pointing arrow symbolizing optimism. The background color (called Storm) offers a nice backdrop for the colors and movement in the pentagons, and is also symbolic of the storm we have been navigating.
