Cutting only curved logs, I began each square and triangle-shaped unit with an orange center “hearth,” and randomly added a tiny insert strip. Because I had no preconceived plan for a finished design, the final result is a happy surprise. Batting is Quilter’s Dream Puff, with walking foot quilting on my Bernina 770QE.
