This ongoing series explores the idea that I can improve my health and wellbeing by casting a spell with my quilts. I often begin with a problem or frustration, and proceed with the pitiful act of searching for consolation in the artistic attempt. Much like an evidence board in a crime drama, I explore all the angles, adding up the past, present, and the future I hope for. In the making, unconscious beliefs reveal themselves, and lead me to greater understanding. Having focused on my body in attempts 1-7, this quilt investigates a wish connected to my emotional life- and my physical home. While the effects of this quilt are yet to be determined, making it has given me clarity on my present situation, and helped to unpack the devastating but helpful realization that one of my past relationships was in fact, an example of narcissistic abuse.
