Choosing five of my favorite Painter’s Palette solid colors, I participated in an Instagram #30daysofimprovqal following weekly prompts to make blocks: polygons, stripes, triangles, curves. When the composition was puzzled and pieced together, I quilted on my domestic machine, a combination of ruler quilting and free motion quilting, enhanced with big stitch hand quilting wtih three colors of size 8 perle cotton. Instagram followers inspired the quilt name by commenting that the composition looked like the sea, or a village by the sea.
