Black Gumdrop is an enlargement and elaboration of one of the sketches in Ohio Nine Patch. I was experimenting with value changes and/or duller and brighter color juxtapositions within a particular hue. I stuck to a pretty simple color palette and let the graphic shapes speak for themselves. I love the movement and musicality of this quilt.
