(IMP011) Beach

I was missing the beach, with travel limited. So set out to quilt all my beach memories and beach impressions, from the sun glinting off the sand creating pixellated views, to tide pools and purple starfish. I used all my improv tricks, from curves to set in circles, to unexpected appliqué piecing solutions.The limited palette was another challenge I set for myself and then I finished her off with industrial modern hand-drawn matchstick quilting and a planned wash and dry to bring up all the beachy texture.
