I am a member of the Improv North Bee and asked for exuberant blocks using geometric shapes, swoopy curves and thin lines in bright colours on a navy background. I was inspired by the bright geometric paintings of the Canadian artist and architect B.C Binning. The playfulness of his art has been such an antidote to all the dire news of these past few years. Quilters all across Canada contributed amazing blocks. Thanks to Marnie Burnham, Phillipa Gelinas, Sylvie Hamel, Jera MacKenzie, Arita Rai, Sandra Rocca, Linda Schmidt, Nadia Sokal and Jackie White. I confess I struggled with the layout until I decided to add skinny white lines and random white dots throughout. That seemed to work and it came together with the whimsy and playfulness I was hoping to achieve. Longarmed by Parm Gosselin
