Architect and quilter, I asked the Internet if anybody would like to contribute to a dream country house by sewing a room for it. Everyone was free to choose the function, size and equipment/furniture of their room. I only specified the scale (1:50) and the colors (black for walls, white for doors, windows and furniture, grey for the floor) so that everything would look coherent. 22 women +1 teenage girl from 3 countries participated - absolute beginners, long time seamstresses and experienced quilters. I arranged the rooms and added some as well as corridoors, halls and outside spaces. Our country house has everything we need for a wonderful getaway - sewing rooms, a swimming pool, spa, photo studio, cinema, big kitchen, libraries and more, surrounded by a lush green garden. The quilt was machine quilted in sections and then put together. The common areas and the landscape are hand quilted.
