Reverb began as an improvisational paper pieced block that I designed and rotated until I came up with this layout. I decided to stagger the columns and cut the far right column in half to add more interest. I added more of the dark red background color in the outer columns through deconstruction of the original block, adding more negative space. The word "reverb" suits the quilt because it almost vibrates with movement and color. I selected solid colors to really draw your eye to the graphic shapes of the piecing. The quilting is in 1/2" spaced vertical lines to add texture but not detract from the piecing.
