Strokes quilt came up with the idea of interpreting the traditional quilting blocks, modifying them to give them a freehand appearance, as if they were drawn by hand. To achieve this effect, the use of negative space is crucial, since thanks to it, it is possible to define the pencil/brush strokes that make up the geometric figures. All models are hand drawn and then digitized to make the Foundation Paper Piecing templates. Through this technique, which at first glance may seem much less improvised, I have been able to transfer the random effect of the strokes to the final quilt.
