When you imagine the word “sharp” what initially comes to mind? Blades that can puncture, broken pieces, and the possibility of a painful experience. However, when creating this quilt, I took inspiration from the sharp objects that hold our pieces together; crafted by sewing needles, and bound together for safety by pins. In this piece sharp comes across as precise, displaying alertness and clear, concise lines. The color choice of black and white was intentional to display the severe contrast of dark and light to accompany the piercing edges.
