Wicker & Woven I is my first study in the series. This piece zooms in on the narrowing neck of a wicker basket with a demijohn peeking through the uneven weave. The bottle green fabric was integral to the design, and plays nicely with the aqua blues. The piece was foundation paper pieced, and quilted by loosely following the wicker bands.
