This quilt features 29 hand-dyed gradations of linen, filling in half of the tesselating shapes that fill the quilt. The geometry is a traditional Islamic geometric pattern, with the most famous example coming from the Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain. I translated the geometry into a block-based patchwork pattern with curvy components. I cut out all of the pieces of this quilt by laser, giving me extremely precise results. The solid white background lets the saturated colors of the hand-dyed linen pop across the quilt top. I finished the quilt with straight-line quilting.
