Color, like cake, is delicious. I had a ton of fun selecting colors for these iced layer cakes. The stripes are the layers; the solids and polka dots (you could call them sprinkles here) are the icing. Each cake has a lit side (left) and a shadowed side (right). There are upward-facing cakes and downward-facing cakes in a fascinating visual conundrum. The configuration I chose just happened to clump up at the center. I intentionally omitted cakes at top center and bottom sides to create a big V of cakes.
