This quilt celebrates the concept of community which can be defined as the snapshot of a population at a given time and space. It's important to note that in most natural systems, communities are usually more successful if the population that makes up that community is diverse. The more diverse a community is the better able it is to thrive. In this community quilt you will see that it is made up of different colors, textures and types of fabric which lends to the quilts diversity. As with most communities, there is always a concentration of the population at the core of the community and this becomes more sparse as you move to the outskirts. This quilt is my interpretation of a log cabin quilt with varying types of fabric, often reversing the fabrics to lend interest. This quilt was entirely pieced from scraps including the background.
