Most of my quilts are very colourful. With Milky Opals I wanted to explore texture, it is the latest iteration of my Opal Essence series of quilts. The fabrics are a selection of linens, white on white quilting fabrics, seersucker and lace. The arcs were needle turn appliqued on to the base diamonds and then machine pieced together into tumbling blocks. The minimal machine quilting accentuates the soft texture of the individual fabrics.
