Log Cabin Play started as a scrap play quilt. I pulled out all my orange, pink, red and yellow scraps. The play exercise had two goals, one was to make many different log cabins and the second was to use all my scraps that I had pulled. I tried my hand at making each log cabin a little bit different than the one before. I experimented with super skinny colored stripes, thicker stripes, really wonky log cabins, not so wonky log cabins, quarter log cabins and more. I wanted this to be a pallet cleanser so to speak. I had all my scrap pieces organized by length and shape and between other quilt projects, I'd come back to this one and make a new block. Eventually I used almost all my scraps and had enough blocks to piece together the puzzle of log cabins into one of my favorite quilts!
