This quilt was created for the Make-a-Difference challenge for 2022. Given the challenge of Oceans, I was inspired by the shapes and color of coral while also thinking about the impact of my own plastic consumption and how much of it ends up in the Ocean. I designed and laser cut many solids in the shape of a 6-pack rings, and experimented with various layouts of it to highlight depth in color and shape play. The final piece is a play on inspiration coming from two sources - from far away it might appear as colorful coral blended together but close up you might begin to recognize the shapes.
