For me, improvisational design is a natural and intuitive process which includes the exploration of scale, shape, colour and line, and the visual relationships created between the various elements. This abstract composition is the result of the manipulation of simple shapes, a limited colour palette, and the relationships formed during the design and construction of the quilt.
