This quilt was all about transition. Transition from one shade to another, from colorful hues to neutrals, from organic to geometric shapes. In life my kids were transitioning from summer break to a new school year. In my garden the last few goldfinches were perched feasting on rudbeckia seed heads; the hummingbird feeder turf wars were winding down; and the monarch butterfly numbers dwindled as the collective migration commenced southward. Among all this activity I was on cloud 9 feeling my mojo with this quilt project.
