The Balcones Fault is the geologic phenomenon that formed the contours of the Texas Hill Country. It literally runs beneath my feet, offering endless inspiration in the form of rocky cliffs and limestone formations. The surface expression of the fault resulted in fissures, underground springs, and caves found on our land and have also become metaphors for the fault lines running through our society and interpersonal relationships.
