When my state first put out the stay home orders in the spring of 2020 because of COVID, I decided to sew an improv block each week. After piecing, I hand quilted each block. I used black batting and black Perle 8; except pink quilting on one block. Knots and thread tails are intentionally visible. As is the raw edge of each block sew together by a zigzag stitch in multiple colors. For binding I chose several fabrics, including a sheer silk that reveals the raw edge through its transparency and the hand stitches used to secure the binding.
