The Brown Eggs and Ham came about from the idea that fabric is my paint and hand stitching is my paint brush. I am inspired by the medium of paint on canvas. Each piece was hand cut freely with the exception of the circles (I used a bowl). Each piece is hand stitched onto the background fabric with a running stitch, and I am extremely partial to leaving the edges raw, I love the slightly unfinished look of it. I decided to use the grid pattern because it is my favorite pattern to quilt. I am always inspired by bright colors and bold prints, especially polka dots. This large format quilt is bar far one of my favorite finishes. It took a total of 6 months to complete!
