Kelsey Cummings- Odoi BSN, RN is a current student at The University of Maryland, School of Nursing in the DNP Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Program. Kelsey’s experience as a Surgical Oncology ICU nurse at The Johns Hopkins Hospital has inspired her to peruse a career as a AGPCNP and follow patients beyond the hospital setting and throughout the trajectory of their illness. As a Student Nurse Practitioner Kelsey has completed over one thousand clinical hours working in primary care, long-term care, and subacute rehab centers. Her work with geriatric patients has inspired her to continue to work toward improving patient outcomes within long-term care facilities. Following her anticipated graduation in May 2023 Kelsey is looking forward to building upon the extensive knowledge she has gained during her rigorous DNP program to promote best practice and quality improvement within the post- acute and long-term care setting.
