Kristen Lawlor, DSW, LICSW grew up in San Francisco, California and attended her undergraduate at Loyola University New Orleans where she received her BA in History and Psychology. She went on to complete her master’s program at the University of Southern California as part of the inaugural class of their Military Mental Health MSW program in 2011. This past fall in September of 2022 she graduated with a Doctorate of Social Work in Organizational Leadership from the University of Alabama. Dr. Lawlor started her field work with the Department of Defense as a community support coordinator in the New England region. She continued her work with Veterans as a clinical social worker with the Boston VA homeless program and has dedicated her career to serving Veterans and their families, spending the last 9 years in medical social work. She is currently the Veteran Directed Care Program Coordinator with the Manchester VA Medical Center where her work is concentrated in the field of geriatrics and developing sustainable solutions to best support aging Veterans and their families. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lawlor is the Chair of the Social Work and Mental Health Professional Development Committee for continuing education at the medical facility and is an appointed member of the Research and Development Committee at the Manchester VA. Kristen lives on the lake with her college sweetheart and together they have 2 young daughters and a black lab puppy.
