Dr. Wan’s research interests focus on palliative care disparities and team sciences. She is currently examining rural disparities in access to palliative care among older adults with cancer and the role of care coordination to support rural older adults with cancer to access to early palliative care. Her goal is to develop a feasible intervention to address barriers in care communication and coordination at the health system level to facilitate access to early palliative care among rural older adults with cancer. Her long-term goal is to reduce palliative care disparities among underserved communities leveraging comprehensive research methodology and team sciences.
