Prescription stimulants are used effectively in the treatment of ADHD, but it is important to understand why and how these medications work and react within the body in order to optimize patient outcomes.
This session will explore the psychopharmacology of stimulants, looking at their mechanism of action, review the list of approved medications within this category and discuss best practices for selecting the right medication for your patient.
While prescription stimulants are a strong tool for providers treating ADHD, it is important to understand the alternative forms of care available. Non-stimulant treatment options for ADHD will be explored and expert faculty will review how to manage therapy options both with and without use of medication. Delivery of care, documentation, and patient access to prescription stimulants will also be discussed.
