A partner in Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP’s Atlanta office, Brandee Kowalzyk practices in the areas of pharmaceutical and medical device defense, commercial litigation, product liability, and toxic tort defense. She has trial experience in defense of medical device defense and product liability cases in various federal courts and Georgia state courts around the country, and is the current chair of the IADC Drug, Device, and Biotech Committee.
A member of the Fond du Lac Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe, Brandee has served since 2017 as a tribal appellate court judge for her Tribe, in which role she hears and decides appeals from the Tribe’s Trial Court. She is a member of the National Native American Bar Association, the International Association of Defense Counsel, DRI, and is on the Advisory Board of the Georgia State University College of Law Center for Law, Health & Society.
Active in her community, Brandee previously served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Gold Shield Foundation, a nonprofit organization aimed at providing financial and other support to the families of police officers and firefighters who are injured or killed in the line of duty. She also heads the firm's Atlanta office’s implementation of the Wills for Heroes program, a project that provides complimentary wills for emergency first response personnel throughout the United States.
