Urology Resident
Aaron A. Gurayah, MD, is currently a third-year Urology resident at NYP–Weill Cornell Medicine. He earned a degree in Molecular Biology with a minor in Global Health and Health Policy from Princeton University, followed by a medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During his undergraduate studies, he conducted his senior thesis research assessing DNA methylation as a potential link between neighborhood air pollution and cognitive deficits in children.
After completing his undergraduate education, Aaron became a research fellow at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) at the National Institutes of Health. During this fellowship, he interviewed parent caregivers of children with inherited metabolic disorders and investigated the accessibility of healthcare and social support resources for families affected by these rare conditions.
At the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Aaron became highly involved with the Desai Sethi Urology Institute, where he conducted research in urologic oncology, andrology, and urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery. Currently, within the Department of Urology at Weill Cornell Medicine, his work focuses on evaluating patient-reported outcomes and identifying disparities in prostate cancer care. His research interests include functional outcomes, treatment selection, and quality-of-life outcomes in men with localized and advanced prostate cancer.
