Dr. Giorgio Gandaglia currently holds the position of Assistant Professor of Urology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, Italy, since September 2020. Simultaneously, he serves as a Full Staff Urologist at the Department of Urology at San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. Dr. Gandaglia completed his medical education with honors at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan in July 2011. He furthered his academic journey by completing his Urology Residency with honors in July 2017. He gained additional experience through a Research Fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the Cancer Prognostics and Health Outcomes Unit, University of Montreal Health Center, Montreal, Canada in 2013. In 2015, he pursued a fellowship at the OLV Robotic Surgery Institute in Aalst, Belgium. Dr. Gandaglia actively participates in various scientific societies. Dr. Gandaglia is a senior associate member of the EAU Prostate Cancer Guidelines Panel since November 2020 and is a Board Member of the EAU Section of Uro-Oncology (ESOU) since April 2024. Dr. Gandaglia currently serves as Assistant Editor of the journal.
Dr. Gandaglia has a significant presence in scientific research, with more than 550 peer-reviewed indexed publications according to PubMed, along with an H-Index of 66. Throughout his career, Dr. Gandaglia has received recognition, including the Reviewer of the Year award by European Urology in 2015. He received the ESUI Vision Award in 2019 for the best article on imaging published in urology and the EAU Best Paper in Urological Literature Award for the best clinical research article in 2019. In 2023, he was honored with the Matula Italian Award from the Italian Society of Urology (SIU) and in 2024 Dr. Gandaglia received the prestigious Crystal Matula Award from the European Association of Urology (EAU) for the most promising scientific CV under the age of 40.
