Wilson Sui, MD is an Assistant Professor of Endourology at the University of Michigan. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology and Economics at Cornell Unversity before enrolling in the Columbia-Bassett Program at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He received additional training in Lean Six Sigma, a process improvement approach. During this time he also spent a year as a clinical research fellow under the guidance of Dr. James McKiernan working on clinical trials and health services research. After medical school, Wilson underwent his residency training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and then joined as a fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, Department of Urology working with Drs. Thomas Chi and Marshall Stoller.
He is very excited have joined the department at the University of Michigan. Clinically, he is interested in complex stone disease including PCNL and BPH including laser enucleation of the prostate. His research interests are mainly focused on perioperative outcomes after kidney stone and BPH surgery and the metabolic management of nephrolithiasis. He was awarded an AUA foundations grant in 2023 for his work on a randomized clinical trial on antibiotic utilization in high risk patients undergoing ureteroscopy. Recently, he was named as the program director for the new BPH initiative in the statewide urology collaborative, MUSIC. He hopes to continue to build and develop his research portfolio in clinical trials, quality improvement and health services research.
