Assistant Professor (Education Specialist)
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center
Tasha Posid, M.A., Ph.D., is a faculty member in the Department of Urology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where she serves as the Surgical Educator and Education Specialist. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Emory University. Dr. Posid earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Boston College, which she followed with a three-year post-doctoral fellowship at The Ohio State University where she specialized in curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation (assessment). With training as a behavioral researcher, she uses these highly transferable skills and unique background in research, statistics, and education to facilitate a productive research agenda evaluating educational outcomes for the purposes of improving the learning process, particularly in the realm of medical and surgical education.
Dr. Posid facilitates many of the department’s ongoing education series, including a one-month resident research rotation, simulation curriculum, and hidden curriculum (for non-clinical skill development). She has developed a longitudinal community partnership with a local free clinic to provide cross-cultural training to the department’s residents in the form of a local global health curriculum. Dr. Posid also manages a robust pipeline of students working with the department and is the Faculty Advisor for the First-Generation Pre-Medical Student Organization at Ohio State. In Urology, Dr. Posid continues to serve as the Department’s Director of Social Media, Director of Undergraduate Medical Education, and Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Dr. Posid, along with Department Chair Dr. Cheryl Lee, has recently launched C.U.R.E. (Consortium for Urologic Research in Education). C.U.R.E.'s purpose is to create and maintain a community that partners to improve patients' lives by inspiring high-quality care through data-driven best practices in urologic education and training. She will serve as inaugural Director of C.U.R.E. and looks forward to expanding this initiative in coming years.
