David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA
Tommy Jiang is currently an M3 at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He originally hails from Wilmette, IL and attended the University of California, Berkeley where he studied Molecular and Cell Biology and graduated with the highest distinction (Summa Cum Laude) and with department honors. Afterwards, he took a gap year for a summer internship at the World Health Organization and then worked under the guidance of Frank McCormick, PhD at the Helen Diller Comprehensive Cancer Center at UCSF. His interest in the field piqued early since his grandfather, uncle, and father were all trained academic Urologists and quickly learned the unique blend of intimate clinical care and advanced surgical technique that is required in the field. He hopes to pursue residency in Urology when he graduates medical school in 2023 and is passionate about translating findings in the lab into providing equitable and efficacious care to his future patients.
Since September 2019, Tommy has been working with Dr. Sriram Eleswarapu MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Urology at UCLA, Dr. Jesse Mills MD, Director of the Men’s Clinic at UCLA, and Dr. Amar Kishan, Associate Professor at UCLA, on urologic-related topics that include Erectile Dysfunction, Fertility, and Prostate Cancer outcomes. He hopes to follow in the footsteps of his mentors and pursue Academic Urology.
