Dr. Pietro Scilipoti is a urology resident and PhD student at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, Italy, training under the guidance of Professor Francesco Montorsi.
He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milano-Bicocca in June 2021, defending a thesis on the functional and oncological outcomes after radical prostatectomy in patients with a history of previous surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia. In November 2021, he began his residency in Urology at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, where he has been actively involved as a sub-investigator in several clinical trials in prostate cancer and bladder cancer. He also collaborates with the Gastroenterology Department in the multidisciplinary management of patients with Lynch syndrome in the urological setting.
From October 2023 to September 2024, Dr. Scilipoti completed a 12-month clinical research fellowship in prostate cancer at the Regional Cancer Center Mellansverige, Uppsala University, Sweden, under the supervision of Professor Pär Stattin. He subsequently completed a 6-month surgical fellowship at Hôpital Pitié-Salpêtrière, Sorbonne Université, Paris, France, under Professor Morgan Rouprêt. Since November 2025, he has also been undertaking an additional fellowship in endourology at Hôpital Tenon, Sorbonne Université, Paris, under Professor Olivier Traxer, in parallel with his PhD training.
Dr. Scilipoti is the author of more than 80 peer-reviewed publications in the fields of urology, uro-oncology, and endourology, published in leading indexed international journals. According to Google Scholar, he currently has an H-index of 13 and more than 400 citations. His research mainly focuses on survival outcomes in prostate cancer, intravesical treatments and risk stratification in non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer, urothelial carcinoma, and the urological manifestations of Lynch syndrome, with growing interest in endourology and technology-driven innovation in urological surgery.
