Dr. Giacomo Musso is a urology resident at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, Italy, under the supervision of Prof. Francesco Montorsi.
Dr. Musso graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in 2021, presenting a thesis on oncological outcomes and recurrence patterns following open versus minimally invasive surgery in patients with renal cell carcinoma. In 2021 he started his residency in Urology at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, actively participating in clinical and surgical management of urologic oncology patients.
In July 2024, he started a 12-month clinical research fellowship in oncological urology at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), working under the mentorship of Prof. Ithaar Derweesh. His research primarily focuses on kidney cancer, with particular interest in prognostic modeling, risk stratification, survival and surgical outcomes.
Dr. Musso is the author of several peer-reviewed publications in the field of urology and uro-oncology (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=musso+giacomo&filter=years.2021-2025&sort=fauth). He also serves as a peer reviewer for several international journals and regularly participates in major national and international urology and oncology congresses.
