Dr. May is a urologic oncology fellow at the Univeristy of Michigan and will be starting as an assistant professor in urology at the University of Virginia in September 2024. She recieved her bachelor's degree in chemical and biological engineering at University of Colorado and completed medical school and residency in urology at Saint Louis University.
Dr. May's research interest is in basic science and translational kidney cancer research. She aims to understand the molecular mechanisms driving kidney cancer progression and metastasis in order to develop crucial biomarkers to guide treatment as well as new therapuetics. She is particulary interested in understanding the role and regulation of the epithelial to mesenchymal transition in kidney cancer and the interaction between tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment.
