Dr. Luis Martínez-Piñeiro has kept a close relationship with the academic, research and teaching environment during his whole career.
• He started to work first as Honorary Professor of Urology at the Autonomous University of Madrid during his last year of training (1990-1991).
• After returning from his fellowship in San Francisco he earned the position of Associate Professor of Urology at the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain, where he lectured until 2004.
• Two years later he was accredited as Professor by the Spanish National Agency of Accreditation (ANECA) and worked as Associate Professor of Urology at the European University of Madrid from 2013 to 2016.
• He has also been involved in editorial activities, being reviewer of European Urology and Associate Editor of the Journal “Archivos Españoles de Urología” from 1991 until 2022.
• He was member of the EORTC from 1997 to 2001 and was elected later, in 2016, chairman of the Spanish CUETO Group.
