Rick Bangs, MBA/PMP, is a bladder and prostate cancer survivor and has worked as a patient advocate in a variety of roles, including research advocacy, government lobbying, educational support, support groups, one-on-one support, and fundraising.
He serves as the Bladder and Penile Cancer Patient Advocate for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), a CPRIT advocate reviewer, and as a Patient Advocate on ASCO and AUA Guideline Panels. He has also served as chair of the SWOG patient advocate committee, SWOG bladder cancer patient advocate, co-chair of the NCI patient advocate steering committee, NCI cancer care delivery research steering committee patient advocate, and NCI genitourinary cancer steering committee patient advocate. He is leading the SWOG membership profiles project in support of SWOG’s representation efforts. He also supports the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (where he hosts the Bladder Cancer Matters podcast) and Stand Up to Cancer. He is a retired Marketing and IT professional.
