Dr. Benson received his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, after which, he completed a general surgery internship at LSUHSC- New Orleans. He completed his Urology training at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas–Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center. He then went onto Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, where he completed a Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery (GURS) Fellowship.
Dr. Benson previously was an Assistant Professor at UTHealth -Houston, and prior to that at Tulane University School of Medicine and he recently transitioned his practice to Cincinnati Ohio with The Urology Group, His clinical interests include urethral strictures, genitourinary trauma, urologic prosthetics, male urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, cancer survivorship, ureteral strictures, neurourology, and urologic congenitalism.
