Desola Davis is a Senior Medical Scientist on the Patient Access and Quality of Care (PAQ) team. She serves as the clinical lead for managed care organizations, specialty pharmacies, health systems/IDNs and other population-based healthcare decision makers and influencers. The PAQ team is responsible for the entire Gilead portfolio and facilitates scientific exchange on disease management and quality of care/population health topics. Prior to her position at Gilead, Desola was a Drug Use Management Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, where she covered utilization and formulary management activities for GI/Hepatology, HIV/Infectious diseases, Pulmonology, Behavioral Health, and Urology. She developed and implemented high impact, patient centric drug use management initiatives, one of which won a national for innovation, quality, and excellence in patient care.
Desola holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and received her Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Georgia. She completed her PGY-1 Managed Care and PGY-2 Ambulatory Care residency training at Kaiser Permanente Georgia. Dr. Davis is a member of the AMCP Joint Research Committee and serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy (JMCP). She is also a scientific reviewer on the Kaiser Permanente Georgia Institutional Review Board. Dr. Davis serves as a virtual preceptor for the AMCP Foundation/Pfizer Summer Internship program, which she completed as a student in 2012.
