Richard L. “Buddy” Ogletree, Jr. is the Pharmacy Director for Alliant Health Solutions. A major part of that role includes development and management of prior authorization (PA) criteria for physician administered drugs. Other current roles include Research Coordinator for AIS HealthCare, as well as Pharmacy Data and Research Consultant for the Mississippi State Department of Health. He is also a community pharmacist for Walmart. Previous roles have included hospital pharmacist in distributive and clinical roles, as well as time in the geriatric clinic. Additionally he has served in various other positions such as independent community pharmacy, long-term care pharmacy (distributive and consulting), and third party, including managing a PA unit for Point of Sale claims with Mississippi Medicaid.
Ogletree attended the University of Arkansas for his pre-Pharmacy curriculum prior to earning a BS in Pharmacy from University of Louisiana, Monroe (then Northeast Louisiana University). He obtained his PharmD from the University of Mississippi. Ogletree spent over 20 years coordinating the Drug Information Center and the Investigational Drug Services at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and serving on the faculty of the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy.
