Mr. Ford has served as the Executive Director of the Value Based Care Council of NAMCP since its inception in 2019. Prior to his work with NAMCP, he accumulated over 35 years of experience within the managed care payor, pharmaceutical benefit management, and pharmaceutical manufacturer arenas. This experience most recently included 13 years at Boehringer Ingelheim where he contributed in the roles of a Regional Account Manager within Managed Markets, Associate Director of Health Quality and Outcomes, and as Associate Director of Clinical Science Consultants. Mike has 5 years of tenure as the Director of Managed Care Sales at Caremark and lastly, he served over 18 years as a Pharmacy Director within the payor space with time being split between Aetna US Healthcare and Prudential Healthcare.
Mr. Ford has conducted presentations on managed care issues ranging from formulary adherence to improving patient compliance and outcomes through disease state management programs. He has served with both the Virginia Pharmacists Association and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy. He received his pharmacy degree from Mercer Pharmacy School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Richmond.
