Jonathan Darbro is a medical entomologist for the northern Brisbane region of Queensland, Australia. In addition to coordinating surveillance for Ross River and Barmah Forest viruses and guiding treatment responses to detections of exotic mosquitoes at the Brisbane International Airport, Jonathan also serves on Queensland's Japanese encephalitis Incident Response Team (JEV IMT) as well as the Japanese Encephalitis Vector Management Group. Jonathan has also served as President of the Mosquito Control Association of Australia (MCAA) since 2018. Jonathan received his PhD in medical entomology from Cornell University in 2007, he has carried out research in biological control of Aedes aegypti for the Commonwealth Science and Industry Research Organisation (CSIRO), and he served as the Mosquito and Arbovirus Research Committee (MARC) entomologist at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute.
