Dr. Harrell is a former President of AACE and the American College of Endocrinology. He was an early adopter of point of care neck ultrasound and the first endocrinologist to use this technology at the Cleveland Clinic in 1992. He has subsequently been a proponent of on site cytologic review of fine needle aspiration biopsy material and was co-Founder of the Memorial Center for Integrative Endocrine Surgery in 2011 along with Dr. David Bimston. He has 32 years of office neck US experience with surgical correlation and has published extensively in this field.
