Valerie Prilop (MS, MSLS, CHIS level 2) has been a Senior Librarian in The Learning Center, a consumer health library at MD Anderson Cancer Center, since 2015. She was previously a librarian in Special Collections at the University of Houston. She obtained her library degree from the University of North Texas, and also holds degrees in anthropology and communication. In addition to MLA, she is active in the South Central Chapter, for which she currently serves on the Houston LAC, and the Texas Library Association, for which she is currently an officer of the Special Libraries Division and Queers & Allies and is a member of the Bylaws Committee.
